He was appointed Consultant Podiatric Surgeon and departmental lead at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where he specialises in reconstructive and corrective foot and ankle surgery.

Mr Nazir has a particular specialist interest in minimally invasive foot surgery, bunion surgery and complex forefoot reconstruction, and is recognised for his experience in modern keyhole techniques designed to minimise soft-tissue disruption and facilitate recovery.
Qualifications and Training
Mr Nazir qualified in Podiatric Medicine from the London Foot Hospital and University College London Medical School in 2001. He subsequently completed extensive postgraduate surgical training in London and Surrey, gaining his Fellowship in Podiatric Foot Surgery.
In 2005, he undertook a specialist Foot & Ankle Surgery Travelling Externship at the Harvard/Cambridge Health Alliance in Massachusetts and Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut, USA, gaining further experience in contemporary foot and ankle surgical techniques.
His career has remained focused exclusively on the assessment and treatment of foot and ankle conditions, combining extensive surgical experience with an evidence-based approach to patient care.
Current Practice
Mr Nazir is Clinical Director of The London Foot & Ankle Surgery, based at 17 Harley Street in London.
His practice provides specialist assessment and treatment for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, with particular expertise in bunions, forefoot disorders, sports injuries and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
He believes that treatment should be individualised to each patient. Wherever appropriate, he aims to manage problems without surgery and provides patients with a clear explanation of their diagnosis, treatment options, expected recovery and potential risks, enabling them to make informed decisions about their care.
Specialist Interests
Mr Nazir has extensive experience in both surgical and non-surgical management of foot and ankle conditions.
His specialist surgical interests include:
- Minimally invasive and keyhole bunion surgery
- Bunion correction and forefoot reconstruction
- Hammer toe and lesser-toe correction
- Minimally invasive flat-foot reconstruction
- Tendon repair and reconstruction, including Achilles tendon injuries
- Ankle arthroscopy and keyhole ankle surgery
- Ankle stabilisation for recurrent ankle instability
- Sports-related foot and ankle injuries
He also treats professional and high-level sportsmen and women and has developed specialist ultrasound-guided injection techniques to assist with accurate diagnosis and targeted non-surgical treatment.
Minimally Invasive Bunion Surgery
A particular area of Mr Nazir’s practice is minimally invasive bunion surgery, using modern keyhole surgical techniques to correct bunion deformity while limiting disruption to the surrounding soft tissues.
He has developed a specialist interest in contemporary bunion correction techniques and uses modern fixation systems where appropriate. His approach is focused on accurate correction of the underlying deformity, maintaining or restoring foot function and helping patients return to normal activities as efficiently and safely as possible.
Education, Research and Professional Leadership
Mr Nazir is actively involved in education, research and professional development within podiatric surgery. He regularly lectures and provides surgical training to other Foot & Ankle Specialists and presents at professional conferences, seminars and educational meetings.
He has also held senior professional leadership positions within UK podiatric surgery, including serving as Dean of the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery.
His ongoing involvement in clinical audit, research and education reflects his commitment to maintaining high standards of evidence-based foot and ankle care.
Patient-Centred Approach
Mr Nazir believes that good surgical care begins with an accurate diagnosis and a clear understanding of the patient’s goals.
His consultations are designed to provide patients with an honest assessment of their condition and a balanced discussion of both surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Surgery is recommended only when it is appropriate and when the expected benefits outweigh the risks.
His aim is to combine extensive surgical experience with modern techniques and personalised care, helping patients achieve a successful outcome and return to the activities that matter to them.
