Mr Ewan Kannegieter is a UK-trained Consultant Podiatric Surgeon specialising in the assessment and surgical management of foot and ankle disorders.
He brings extensive experience across elective foot surgery, reconstructive procedures, as well as complex and revision cases. He is known for his calm, evidence-based approach, prioritising appropriate treatment and long-term outcomes for every patient.

With over 24 years of experience, Mr Kannegieter’s clinical practice spans a broad range of foot and ankle conditions.
His areas of expertise include hallux valgus (bunions), lesser toe deformities, midfoot and selected hindfoot conditions, sports-related foot injuries, and chronic heel pain.
He has particular expertise in complex and revision surgery, where accurate diagnosis, careful planning, and realistic expectation-setting are essential. Where appropriate, he places strong emphasis on non-operative management and works closely with patients through shared decision-making to determine the most suitable treatment pathway.
Education & Qualifications
Mr Kannegieter completed his postgraduate surgical training through the nationally governed UK podiatric surgery pathway, training in centres including Colchester, Ilkeston, and Reading.
His qualifications and academic roles include Fellowship in Podiatric Surgery from the Royal College of Podiatry, Fellowship of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and an appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medical Sciences in the United States.
These roles reflect his continued involvement in education, research, and international collaboration.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Kannegieter has held senior leadership roles within the profession. He is the Immediate Past Dean of Podiatric Surgery at the Royal College of Podiatry, where he has contributed to national training standards, clinical governance, and service development within foot and ankle surgery.
His work demonstrates a strong commitment to patient safety, professional accountability, and high-quality clinical outcomes. He also undertakes medico-legal work as an independent expert witness, providing balanced, evidence-based opinions in matters relating to foot and ankle care.

In addition, he leads an established specialist foot surgery practice in Essex and is recognised by major UK insurers.His practice is grounded in careful assessment, proportionate intervention, and sound clinical judgement.
